Biography
Christie Cavallo joined the UTHSC College of Nursing in July 2013 as an instructor. She has 29 years of experience as a BSN-prepared nurse in the clinical setting to include ICU, telemetry, med/surg, surgery and home health. She has been teaching undergraduate nursing students for 10 years and is currently the course coordinator for NSG 444 Concepts I: Foundations for Nursing Practice and clinical faculty for Concepts III and Internship. Mrs. Cavallo serves as a simulation champion in the College of Nursing and is the secretery//treasurer for the Tennessee Simulation Alliance.
She received her BSN from Delta State University of Cleveland, Miss. in May 1994 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in Nursing Education, from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn., in December 2012. She is currently seeking her Doctorate in Education from Walden University. She also holds a Certified Nurse Educator and Certified Academic Nurse Educator certification. She is a member of the National League of Nursing, Tennessee Simulation Alliance, Tennessee Nurses’ Association, American Nurses’ Association, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
